Inerview Outfit

I'm getting ready to go into the studio when I get a text from Ryan: Meet me at the train. I want u to tell me if my clothes are ok.

Backstory: Ryan has decided that at some point, her boobs will get saggy and she won't be able to make as much money modeling. As a Homo sapiens digitalis, I'm not sure that's true, but neither Madeline or I want to discourage her from thinking about the future. Plus, she's decided to go to college. I know a lot of people see her, um, unconventional choices and assume she's not bright, but she really is. Classic case of a child who was brought up to believe they had no merit and lived down to expectations. But, her transcripts aren't going to get her a scholarship, so she's wisely chosen to go to Harold Washington for a year or two. "But I have to get a job where they pay in dollars. I like the cryptocurrency and all—the arbitrage opportunities are mad!—but I can't pay for city college with it." Can't argue with that.

Back to the presentish. I'd forgotten that today was Ryan's first job interview. She's excited about it—some kind of creative assistant role. I said I'd back up her employment as "studio assistant" for the last year as long as she helped Daz move stuff around, so her work experience is better than burrito assembly or, um, nude modeling (Madeline talked her out of including that). Madeline suggested she get a simple blazer and keep her earrings to one pair. Her hair is what it is, but it doesn't seem that radical anymore. So I hoof it over to the train, expecting to see Ryan in that sharp looking white shirt with pink collars she likes a lot and hoping she wore a camisole under it. God, I hope she wore something under.

Wow. I almost think the white shirt without anything under would have been better.

"Hi Ryan. Aren't you going to your interview?"

"Yeah. Is this outfit okay? They said they wanted somebody with creative problem solving skills, so I didn't want to be boring. Madeline thought a suit might be good and this hyper suit seemed like it was creative." She nods really hard.

"Do you ever watch tv? News? Ryan…I mean…wow. Do know what people wear at work?"

"Bags—see," She holds up an attache case. "and boring pants with golf shirts. Like my school uniform."

"Wait, you wore clothes at school?"

"Duh!"

"When did you start dressing like you?"
